International Angling is a Booking Agency Representing Lodges and Eco-Tourism Operations from around the World, which main function is to manage all the needs and requirements of the Traveling Angler and outdoor enthusiast. We selectively choose which Fishing Lodges, Fish Camps, and Eco-Tourism operations around the World have the quality and services required to operate in this highly competitive market, always thinking on the final beneficiary of our services, the paying angler and adventure seeker.
We constantly scout and research new destinations, lodges, and fisheries around the world always looking for high quality operations in exotic locales where we can market and develop a long term relationship with Lodge Owners and locals alike. One important element in the development of new fisheries and eco tourism operations in today’s highly ecologically sensitive market, is the protection of the fisheries and ecosystems, for a long term sustainability of the local resources, with minimum impact to the environment. The other equally important factor is the improvement of the living standards of their native populations as well as their cultural traditions.
Who We Are
International Angling is the Brainchild of Andres Jara, a Colombian/American living in the United States for the past 30 years. For the past 15 years Andres has been President of A. J. Fishing International, which is an Export & International Manufacturer’s Representative Company, creating markets and sales for many US based tackle companies around the world.
In 2000-2002 Andres worked as a Sales Associate in the fishing and fly fishing departments at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Store in Orlando, Florida. At age 10 he discovers the intense passion for fishing, a passion which still drives him today as it did 35 years ago. At age 17, Andres connects with his first Peacock Bass, Payara, Piranha, and other exotics in his Native Colombia, thus creating a lifelong obsession with these incredible Gamefish from the South American Tropics.
In 1988, Andres begins to promote "El Morichal" Lodge in Colombia, which was one of the first Big Peacock Bass Lodges in South America. In 1990, he starts to work as a consultant and trip organizer for Neville Cutting’s Cutting Loose Expeditions in Winter Park, Florida. While working for Cutting Loose Expeditions, he gets exposed to many lodges around the world as well as the intricacies and logistics involved in the Sport Fishing and Travel Industries. In the 1991-1992 seasons Andres had the honor to work as Assistant Manager of World Famous "Silver King Lodge" in Barra Colorado National Park In Costa Rica, where he learned all the details of operating a First Class Operation.
His passion for fishing has taken him to many fishing destinations in Central & South America, as well as in the United States.
His training also includes World Class Training in the area of Customer Service and Management, when Andres and Grupo Fortaleza from Cochabamba, Bolivia, won the Musical Audition with Disney’s Talent Agents and were hired to perform Traditional Andean Music from Bolivia for the 1998/1999 seasons. Andres and the Bolivian Musicians performed for the Opening Ceremony of The Animal Kingdom Theme Park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida in 1998. In 2001 right after 9/11, Andres was hired to perform as an Exotic Mythical Flutists along with Epcot Center’s French Street Theater Ensemble for a special event for World Famous Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 2007 International Angling opened its doors to Adventure Seeking Anglers and Outdoor Enthusiasts as a full service outfitter Representing Lodges and Eco-Tourism Operations all over the world.
